Roel has 30 years’ experience guiding businesses big and small. His experience includes marketing, sales, finance, investment banking, strategic planning and human resources.
Roel progressed through the ranks of the management consulting industry with John Hancock, Johnson and Higgins and Mercer Consulting as an advisor to Fortune 500 companies and is an expert in managed healthcare plan design and employee benefits.
In 2001 Roel founded Commonwealth Capital Partners, LLC and in 2010 Akela Partners, LLC. Both companies specialize in driving sales and enterprise value of privately held high growth companies.
Roel earned a BS. Degree in Computer Science and Economics from Denison University. He is a Certified Cargill Sales Acceleration Coach, a Certified Employee Benefits Consultant (CEBS) and a Fellow of the Life Insurance Management Institute (FLMI).
Roel is the Treasurer of the Holt Elwell Memorial Foundation in New Hampshire and is the Founder and Chairman of the Philadelphia Cup Regatta in Philadelphia. An active sailor, Roel is a US Sailing Certified Race Officer as well as a rabid competitor.
Roel is proud to be the father of three amazing children.
